How we work
Editorial Policy
This page describes how CBD Wire produces its coverage. It is written to be held against us.
How reviews are done
A CBD brand review here is built on the things a reader could verify without trusting us: the brand’s position against the FSA’s public list of CBD food products (checked at product level, not brand level), its published third-party lab reports and how workable batch matching is, the clarity of its labels — milligrams per container and per serving, stated where a shopper can find them — the price per milligram of CBD once the arithmetic is done, and the discipline of its marketing claims. We work from documented sources: the regulator’s published material, the company’s own statements and lab documents, and the public record, and we say in the piece which is which. Specifics are hedged honestly: “as of this writing”, “per the regulator”, “the company says”. We never invent quotes, statistics, or test results.
Claims discipline
CBD products covered here are food supplements, not medicines. We make no medical claims and repeat none: effects are reported as “marketed for” or “users report”, never as things a product does to a body. We give no dosing advice of our own; where we cite intake guidance, it is the regulator’s, attributed. Everything on this site is written for adults.
What our scores mean
Scores run to ten and are judged against what the brand claims to be, not against perfection. A score in the sevens means the paperwork holds and the products do their stated job, with real limitations we enumerate — usually in price-per-mg, labelling clarity, or range discipline. The eights are reserved for brands whose verification we would rely on ourselves; and we do not hand out tens on the theory that everything in this category can fail in a way its makers have not imagined. Every review lists genuine cons, because everything we have ever reviewed has had them.
Disclosure practice
CBD Wire is commercially supported. Some links may earn us affiliate commissions or advertising revenue; any paid or affiliate link is marked as such, and any sponsored post carries a disclosure at the top, in the same layout as everything else. Sponsors buy placement, never conclusions — see the advertise page for how that works.
Bylines
Articles on CBD Wire are published under house bylines maintained by the editorial team. Reviews run under Gemma Hartley — a disclosed house pen name and the accountable editorial identity for everything scored on this site — and news runs under “Staff, CBD Wire”. That is a disclosed house-byline model, not a roster of freelancers, and we would rather tell you that here than have you discover it.
Corrections
We correct errors plainly and note the correction in the piece. If you believe we have published something wrong — a fact, a date, a characterisation — please tell us via the contact page; corrections requests go straight to the editorial desk and are read by a person.
